Policies

Welcome to our policies page! We are a "dog's only" grooming shop. Please read this over before scheduling an appointment. Here at Classy Clipper, we believe in what is best for the dog's well-being. As much as we are determined on giving great customer service, the dog will always be put first.

Classy Clipper does not:

Demat dogs...

If your dog is matted, and none of the matting can be removed easily by brushing, we WILL shave the coat as short as it needs to go to remove all matting. We will not allow the dog to be put through the time of brushing that will pull the hair and hurt the dog. They will also be required to be put on a schedule of every 4-6 weeks in order to keep up with the coat and the maintenance it requires.

Shave Double-Coats...

Cutting into the undercoat of dogs who are double-coated is detrimental to their health and well-being. They use their undercoat as a way to keep warm during the winter, and cool during the summer. Unless there is a proven medical reason to have the dog shaved, we will not partake in this practice. If you are unsure whether your dog is a double-coated breed or not, please contact us before scheduling.

Vaccinations Required

Please make sure your pup has all the vaccines required to maintain their health. They will be around other dogs and humans and their well-being is the utmost important factor to me. I maintain the freedom everyone has to vaccinate their dog as they please and required by law, however I also ask everyone understands when their dog goes in public places, they are at risk for anything and spreading possible illnesses as well. Please be aware of this fact and don't put your groomer or any other dogs at risk. I clean every surface well between every dog to do my absolute best in maintaining a safe, and healthy environment for your pup and I simply ask that you not hold Classy Clipper liable for any illness incurred if that were to happen.

Policies and Procedures: Dogs are accepted for grooming only under the following circumstances.... The dog is fit and healthy, grooming which takes place on an elderly or infirm pet will be at the owner's risk. Grooming may expose preexisting health\skin conditions for which Classy Clipper Dog Grooming & Boutique cannot be held liable. In the event of an emergency, in your absence, you authorize Classy Clipper Dog Grooming & Boutique to contact the nearest Veterinarian and authorize the Vet to treat the pet as necessary at your expense.  Payment is to be made at the time of service. Payment can be cash, check or credit card. Returned checks will incur a $35 charge. Our rates are based on the breed of the pet and duration of the groom. Nail cutting and ear cleaning are part of the service unless the process is too stressful for the pet or too dangerous for the groomer.  We do offer anal gland expression upon request ONLY. Sometimes it will need to be performed by a licensed veterinarian if the groomer cannot get the glands to express from the outside. “De-matting" or complete coat removal of double coated dogs will dramatically alter your pet's appearance and affect their health. This procedures may expose preexisting health\skin problems for which Classy Clipper Dog Grooming & Boutique cannot be held liable. Because these processes can be extremely uncomfortable for your dog and cause skin issues, we will NOT de-mat nor shave double coated dogs. Dogs regulate their temperature by their undercoat and we will always put the dog's well-being first. 1. Cancellations We follow the Nevada County public school closures as they pertain to inclement weather. We try to work as long as conditions are not dangerous. If you are unsure, please call us to confirm. Cancellation and rescheduling of an appointment, by the client, requires 48 hours notice to waive the FULL appointment fee. In the event of inclement weather, a family emergency or any other uncontrollable circumstance, the groomer has the discretion to waive the fee within the 48 hour period. We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule a groom if we feel the need to do so. Every effort will be made to reschedule at a time convenient for both the client and the groomer.     2. No-Shows It is considered a "no-show" when the client is not available at the scheduled appointment time and does not contact the groomer to cancel or reschedule. We reserve the right to charge the FULL grooming fee at the next appointment scheduled due to the loss of revenue caused by a "no-show". Please make every effort to call and cancel or reschedule when possible to avoid such situations. We reserve the right to refuse service to any pet or client for any reason. 3. Late Pick up Charge At Classy Clipper Grooming & Boutique, we understand things come up or you're running late to get your pup after the grooming is done. However we will not be a daycare and will not hold onto your pup for longer than 30 minutes after they are finished. They are living beings and need to go potty and be with you and it is not fair for them or your groomer to have to wait. We need to be able to make room for others coming in for their appointment or for your groomer to go home, and cannot do so if your pup is still with us. If you are more than 30 minutes late picking your dog up, there will be a $25 charge added for every 30 minutes they are with us. Thank you for understanding.
